SHARON, Pa. -- Sharon police are still searching for others who may have been involved in a botched assault and burglary that left one man with head injuries.
Police were called to the 400 block of Fisher Hill at 7:43 p.m. Saturday after neighbors reported gunshots.
Police found Timothy Albert, 19, of Nimick Street, running down the road and stopped him. Albert tossed a loaded .25-cal. semiautomatic pistol to the ground and was arrested, police said.
A second man, Steven Yanek, 19, of Mesabi Street, was arrested at an Irvine Street house sometime later.
Police believe Yanek and Albert were working together and there may have been others.
Police said Yanek is accused of going into a Fisher Hill home and hitting a 19-year-old man over the head with a beer mug. The man was treated for head injuries. Three other people in the house were not hurt.
Police said Yanek ran off, and Albert was outside. As the two ran, a shot was fired.
Yanek is charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, burglary and criminal conspiracy. Albert is charged with criminal conspiracy to commit burglary and carrying a firearm without a license. Both are in Mercer County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bond each.
Preliminary hearings for both men are set for Oct. 31 before District Justice James McMahon.
