Published: Sat, October 21, 2006 @ 12:00 a.m.

YOUNGSTOWN -- Police responded to the 400 block of Breaden Street on a report of shots fired at Youngstown Fire Department at a fire scene.

Police said a firefighter told them around 5 p.m. Friday he heard gunfire while working pumps on a firetruck. He saw men standing by a side door of a nearby house, and men in a sport utility vehicle and a car exchanging gunfire.

Everyone fled before police arrived, but police found a 9mm handgun, narcotics, marijuana, scales, crack cocaine residue, security cameras and monitors in the house. Police removed these items.
