LISBON -- The Columbiana Health Department will hold a number of clinics at 7360 State Route 45. Call (330) 424-0272 to schedule appointments.
A pediatric vision clinic on Wednesday will be staffed by a local optometrist and ophthalmologist. Any child having problems with inflamed or watery eyes, blurred or double vision, crossed eyes, headaches or difficulty seeing things near or far away may be seen. Children from birth to age 21 may be referred to the clinic by a doctor, nurse, teacher, parents or grandparent. There is no charge for an exam, and assistance is available for the purchase of glasses.
A free skin cancer screening will be held Nov. 7. County residents with a suspicious lesion, such as a sore that will not heal, a mole or wart that has changed, a change in color pigmentation of the skin or any skin abnormality, may take advantage of this free screening by a local physician.
A speech and hearing clinic will be held Nov. 21. Any child from birth to age 21 may be referred by a family physician, speech therapist, hearing therapist, school nurse, public health nurse, parent or grandparent. This clinic includes an otolarynologist, audiologists, and speech therapists.
If your child is having problems hearing, chronic ear infections, or speech problems, please call the county health department as soon as possible to schedule an appointment. There is no charge.
Dance series
VILLA MARIA, Pa. -- A complimentary health series, "Any Body Can Dance," will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Villa Maria Community Center, 330 Main St. Laura Sevenich Hancock, candidate in dance and movement therapy program from Case Western Reserve with a varied background in dance styles which include ballet, tap, jazz, Middle Eastern and other dance forms. Learn relaxation exercises, breathing, and improvisation to explore the joy of movement and dance. Registration is not required. Cost is 5.
Flu shot clinic
GREENVILLE, Pa. -- Greenville Medical Cente-UPMC will host an adult flu vaccination clinic for its patients, beginning at 8 a.m. Nov. 4.
Patients who receive vaccinations should check with their insurance providers to see if the cost of the vaccinations is covered. If insurance does not cover the vaccine, the cost is 39.
Vaccines are for people age 18 and older. Those who come to the clinic for flu shots should wear short sleeves and bring their insurance cards.
