YOUNGSTOWN -- The Sept. 9 wedding of Stacy LaShun Hughes and Vernon Gurley Jr., both of 4203 Helena Ave., Youngstown, took place at 2:30 p.m. at Kidston Pavilion in Fellows Riverside Gardens, Mill Creek Park.
The Rev. Ray Linebaugh officiated, and a reception was held afterward at Mahoning Country Club, Girard.
The daughter of Debra A. Hughes, 136 N. Lane Ave., Youngstown, and the son of Vernon Sr. and Linda Gurley, 350 Kenmore Ave., live in Youngstown.
The bride was given in marriage by her sons, Aaron and Anthony Hughes. Her gown was fashioned with a sweetheart neckline, corset back and a caught-up skirt and was trimmed with pearls.
LaChon Williams was the honor attendant, and bridesmaids were Michelle Moore, Latanya and Tamika Gurley, Venus Chatman, Monique Johnson, Yvette Dawson and Carla Logan. Flower girls were Dejah McCrae, Torrie Johnson and Kasie Hicks.
Derrick Johnson was best man, and groomsmen were Kenneth Johnson Jr., Jamal Moore, Danny Levy, Rasheen Moore, Foy Levy, Wilbert Hughes Jr. and George Thomas. VeShun Gurley, the couple's son, was ring bearer, and Michaela and Michael Dawson were ushers. Also participating were Vickie Hicks and Ashley Chatman.
The bride is in direct care with Independence Inc., Warren.
The groom served with the U.S. Marine Corps and attended Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Ill. He is a laborer with Delphi Packard Electric Systems in Warren.
