YOUNGSTOWN -- St. Columba Cathedral was the setting Sept. 9 as Laura Mruczek and Scott Schaffer exchanged nuptial vows during a 2:30 p.m. ceremony officiated by the Rev. John Keehner.
Afterward the daughter of Charles and Barbara Mruczek of Youngstown and the son of Charles and Bernice O'Neil of Canfield, were honored during a reception held at the Lockwood House in Boardman.
The couple have postponed their honeymoon at St. Lucia until December. They live at 4479 Kirk Road, Austintown.
The bride's halter-style white satin gown was embellished with pearls, sequins and beading, and the skirt flowed into a cathedral train.
Seafoam-green gowns were worn by the honor attendant, Amanda Bettikofer, and the bridesmaids, Lisa Place and Christine Kabalan, sisters of the groom, and Jennifer Hellman.
The duties of best man were performed by the groom's brother-in-law, Jason Place, and groomsmen were Josef Schaffer, his brother; Paul Kabalan, his brother-in-law; and Robert Mruczek, the bride's brother.
The bride graduated from Youngstown State University with a bachelor's degree in nursing. She is a registered nurse in the operating room at The Surgery Center of Canfield.
The groom, a CAD operator-designer with Premier Hydraulics, Inc., in Farrell, Pa., graduated from ITT Technical Institute in Youngstown, with an associate in computer-aided drafting and design in engineering.
