Catholic Charities will be host of 9th Voice of Hope Dinner
WARREN -- Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Youngstown will host its ninth annual Voice of Hope Dinner on Nov. 10 at Leo's Ristorante and Banquet Center, 7042 E. Market St.
Brian R. Corbin, executive director of Catholic Charities Services, will present 2006 Voice of Hope Awards to D. Joseph Fleming, individual award; Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, parish award; and St. Vincent de Paul Society of St. Patrick Church in Leetonia, institution award.
The recipients are being recognized for excellence, creativity and leadership in charity and justice on behalf of disadvantaged people.
Proceeds from the event will support the Catholic Charities Agencies' Emergency Assistance Programs throughout the six-county diocese.
The evening begins with a silent auction, hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar at 6 p.m. with music provided by John Reese Project. After a formal dinner at 7, the Rev. Larry Snyder, president of Catholic Charities USA, will give the keynote address. Stan Boney, chief meteorologist at WYTV Channel 33, will serve as master of ceremonies.
