WARREN -- A teleservices company in the city will close by the end of November, causing about 180 employees to lose their jobs.
Reese Teleservices Inc. will close its office at 3709 Youngstown Road S.E. by Nov. 30.
Christopher Ungarino, Reese Teleservices chairman and chief executive officer, said in a letter to Mayor Michael J. O'Brien that the company was forced to close its Warren office because the company had lost a client.
"We have been actively seeking business for the Warren office that would have enabled us to keep the office open," Ungarino wrote. "At this time, we have not been successful in our efforts to locate replacement business."
Ungarino said the company will continue to "aggressively" seek new clients until Nov. 30.
The affected employees, including 171 telemarketers, do not have any bumping rights and are not covered by any union, Ungarino wrote.
