Kraftmaid eliminating 50 salaried jobs
MIDDLEFIELD -- Kraftmaid, a cabinetry manufacturing company with its headquarters here, is in the process of eliminating 50 salaried jobs.
The job cuts do not affect nonsalaried workers.
Sharon Rothwell, vice president of corporate affairs for Kraftmaid's parent company, Masco Corp., said the furloughs "are not budget-cutting layoffs."
She said Kraftmaid had a review of personnel and found a number of positions that were not needed.
Many of the job cuts are in Ohio, mostly because that's where the headquarters is located, she explained.
The measure is intended to increase productivity and profitability, Rothwell said. She said those laid off were contacted personally by the company.
