Pavlinas feted on 60th anniversary during family gathering at Inn

YOUNGSTOWN -- The family of Mr. and Mrs. George Pavlina of Youngstown gathered at the Holiday Inn South in Boardman on Sept. 16 to honor the couple on the occasion of their 60th wedding anniversary.
Hosts for the Mass and dinner party were the couple's children and their spouses, Marilyn and Leonard Sheehn Jr. of Lowellville, George and Sue Pavlina of New Middletown, and Debra and Brian Sobnosky of Highlands Ranch, Colo. The couple have three grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.
The Pavlina are members of Sts. Cyril and Methodius Church, where they were married Sept. 12, 1946.
Mr. Pavlina is a U.S. Army veteran, having served in the European Theatre of Operations from 1942 to 1945 during World War II. He retired in 1978 after 36 years as a millwright with Youngstown Sheet and Tube Co.
Mrs. Pavlina, the former Mary Sofranec, is a homemaker.
