Co-director Christian Peacemaker Teams, reacting to the rescue of three group members who had been held hostage in Iraq. The body of the fourth hostage, Tom Fox, was found dumped along a railroad track earlier this month.
"This is a very deeply concerning development in Afghanistan and we have raised it at the highest levels, and we've raised it in the strongest possible terms."
Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice
Suggesting Afghanistan will act quickly to defuse U.S. anger over a Muslim-born man on trial for his life for converting to Christianity.
