YOUNGSTOWN -- The Youngstown Jewish Community Center, 505 Gypsy Lane, is announcing new spring aquatics programs.
The spring session begins April 3. The new programs are tai chi in the water, water babies, water toddlers and mininovice for parents and children. Also reintroduced into the JCC lineup is lunchercise.
Interested participants can call the JCC aquatics office at (330) 746-3250, Ext. 112, for times and prices.
Story time plannedby First Book group
AUSTINTOWN -- First Book Mahoning Valley will offer a story time for parents and children 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday at Sprint Nextel Weston Center, 5507 Mahoning Ave. First Book Mahoning Valley, part of a national organization, was recently established by a diverse group of local leaders. The national organization was founded in 1992 and has provided more than 40 million new books to children in need. First Book Mahoning Valley is specifically reaching out to provide new books to low-income children who participate in local literacy programs.
Meeting cancellation
YOUNGSTOWN -- There will be no regular weekly meeting of Mahoning County commissioners Thursday. Commissioners usually meet at 10 a.m. Thursdays in the basement conference room of the county courthouse. The next commissioners' meeting will be at 6 p.m. April 4 at Angels for Animals, 4750 state Route 165, Canfield.
Classes sponsorrecycling collection
COLUMBIANA -- The next paper and aluminum recycling collection sponsored by the biology classes at Crestview High School will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday in the school parking lot. If school is canceled because of snow, the collection will be postponed till April 6. If there is a two-hour weather delay, the collection will begin at 10 a.m.
Paper items collected include: newspapers, magazines, phone books, catalogs, paperback books, hard-cover books, school and office paper, junk mail and cardboard. Paper can be packed into paper or plastic bags, or cardboard boxes. Clean aluminum cans can be brought in larger plastic bags.

Removing decorationsat Poland cemetery
POLAND -- All Christmas decorations should be removed from the township cemetery by Saturday, according to an announcement from the township administrator.
