Extradition planned for two arrested in Mich.
NEW CASTLE, Pa. -- Two men wanted as part of a massive drug sweep here have been arrested in Detroit.
New Castle Police Chief Tom Sansone said Maurice "Eli" Hubbard, 20, and David "Ace" Randall, 21, will be extradited sometime in the next few weeks.
Both men were considered part of the East Side Detroit dealers in the recent Operation Detroit executed by state and local officials. Twenty-eight people were charged and most were from Detroit. They controlled the crack cocaine trade in New Castle through two gangs, one hailing form the east side of Detroit and other from the west side. Fewer than half were arrested Feb. 24 when Pennsylvania Attorney General Tom Corbett announced the drug arrest operation.
Sansone said Detroit officers had earlier arrested Shantez "Stretch" Johnson, 32, and Randy "Black" Oates, 20. Oates was being extradited Tuesday. Johnson was to remain in Detroit to face unrelated charges and will be extradited later, he said.
Hubbard, Randall, Oates and Johnson are each charged with corrupt organizations, criminal conspiracy, possession of a controlled substance, possession with intent to deliver and delivery of a controlled substance.
