YOUNGSTOWN -- Forum Health says its security personnel, who will be replaced by an outside company April 1, may be able to "bump" into other open positions with the health-care system.
Also, the 30 full- and part-time security employees affected, 14 at Northside Medical Center and 16 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital in Warren, can apply for positions with Ohio Security Systems of Warren.
Ohio Security Systems, the company hired to provide security at Northside and TMH beginning April 1, was already providing security at Beeghly Medical Park in Boardman and Hillside Rehabilitation Hospital in Howland before Forum's outsourcing announcement this week.
Forum said security was increased in the areas immediately surrounding the Northside campus after the March 3 armed robbery of a Northside employee. The woman was robbed of her purse at gunpoint in the hospital parking deck at around 4 p.m.
Forum officials said additional security measures include: Video surveillance throughout the Northside parking deck, extra patrols by Liberty Township and Youngstown police and regular patrolling by security officers in the external areas around the Northside parking deck.
