YOUNGSTOWN -- The eighth annual Summer Festival of the Arts is accepting artist applications for the July 8-9 event on the Youngstown State University campus. Applications for the juried fine art show are available and April 3 is the deadline. Artists may submit entries in two-dimensional fine arts, three-dimensional fine arts and fine crafts. Each application must be accompanied by a $20 fee. If accepted, the booth fee is $100. "The Summer Festival of the Arts continues to be a destination for local, regional and national artists to promote and sell their artwork," said Lori A. Factor, festival coordinator. Academy enrollment
YOUNGSTOWN -- Legacy Academy for Leaders and the Arts will have open enrollment for pupils in kindergarten through the eighth grade from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday at the modular school office at 1812 Oak Hill Ave. Parents or guardians must bring a child's birth certificate, immunization record, previous report card and proof of grade level, Social Security card and any applicable custody information.
Pupil registration
YOUNGSTOWN -- Immaculate Conception School, 810 Oak St., is accepting registration for kindergarten through the eighth grade for the 2006-07 school year. Parents or guardians must bring a child's Baptismal certificate, immunization records, Social Security number, birth certificate and a $45 nonrefundable registration fee. Kindergarten sign-ups
AUSTINTOWN -- Registration for Austintown children who will enter kindergarten in September will be accepted April 25-26. Parents may register children at any of the elementary schools from 9-11 a.m. and 1-3 p.m. both days or from 5-7 p.m. April 26. Children who will enter first grade in Austintown schools in September and who are enrolled in kindergarten outside the school system should register during those hours as well. Kindergarten pupils must be 5 by Sept. 30 and first-graders must be 6 by that same date. Parents should bring a child's birth certificate, immunization record, proof of residency, Social Security number and any appropriate custody documents.
