XGEORGETOWN, Grand Cayman -- The beach at Georgetown on the island of Grand Cayman was the setting at 10:30 a.m. Jan. 24 as Melissa Zurvitz and Stephen Sakely, both of Youngstown, were united in marriage by the Rev. Richard Wilcox.
Parents of the bride are Timothy and Carole Zurvitz of Youngstown, and the groom is a son of Stephen Sakely of Youngstown and the late JoAnn Sakely.
Afterward the couple left on a Caribbean cruise.
Upon their return, they were honored during a postnuptial reception held Feb. 11 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Hall, Youngstown. They live in Youngstown.
The bride's strapless A-line gown featured a corset back and was enhanced with diagonal ruched chiffon and crystals. Her veil was gathered to a tiara.
Wearing red gowns were the honor attendants, Nicole Zayas and Stacey Lozano, both of Youngstown.
The duties of best man were shared by Erik Johnson and Frank Zayas, also of Youngstown.
The bride graduated from American Travel Training Center in Boardman and is the office manager at Sutton Motor Coach Tours in Boardman.
The groom attended Youngstown and Kent state universities and graduated from Jameson School of Nursing in New Castle, Pa., and the Ohio Police and Fire Academy. He is a sergeant with Mahoning County Sheriff's Department, a member of Poland Fire Department and Mahoning County Haz-Mat Team, and a part-time nurse with TCI Prison in Warren.
