Scouts, Beaver Township to build park pavilion

NORTH LIMA -- The North Lima Boy Scouts Troop will be working with Beaver Township to build an open-air pavilion at Woodworth Park.
Scott Conway, township park board chairman, said the township will get price estimates for the project, specifically the cost of supplies. He said the township probably will contribute the supplies and the Scouts will volunteer their time and provide the labor as part of an effort to obtain their wood project merit badges.
The park board also is planning its 2006 entertainment in the park program and is asking area business owners to consider sponsoring various events this summer.
Sponsorships start at $50. For amounts of $50 to $100, sponsors are acknowledged in event programs; for $100 to $250, sponsors are acknowledged in event programs and are included on a group banner; for $250 or more, sponsors receive acknowledgments in event programs and are featured on an individual banner that is displayed on stage during a performance.
The board also will accept donations of any amount. For more information, call (330) 549-9552.
