Cavaliers observe 60th anniversary at Mass, dinner

XBOARDMAN -- The 60th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Cavalier, 213 Brainard Drive, was observed June 10 during a dinner party with family and friends at Cafe Capri and June 11 during a Mass at St. Charles Church.
The couple will also celebrate the occasion during a trip to Las Vegas later this year.
Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church was the setting June 15, 1946, as Mr. Cavalier and the former Gloria Bartlo were united in marriage. They are members of St. Charles Church, where they have served on various committee and he has been an usher for 45 years.
Mrs. Cavalier, a former Eucharist minister, was a secretary with the Youngstown Education Association, where she was employed 42 years prior to retiring three years ago.
Mr. Cavalier received medals of honor for his service with the U.S. Navy in the Pacific Theater of Operations during World War II. He retired from Cold Metal Products, where he was employed 38 years as a craneman. He is a member of the Italian American Veterans, St. Charles Men's Club and the Knights of Columbus, St. Charles Council.
The couple have a son, Rick Cavalier of Hastings, Mich.; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. A son, Paul Cavalier, is deceased.
