OPERA WESTERN RESERVE General director accepts position in Salem, Ore.

YOUNGSTOWN -- James Boyd, founding general director of Opera Western Reserve, has accepted a post as general manager of the Salem, Ore., Chamber Orchestra.
Anthony R. Infante, who moved back to the Youngstown area a few years ago, will succeed him as interim general manager.
While in New York, Infante had been connected with the not-for-profit organizations Bread and Roses and the Child Life Project, which benefited children impacted by AIDS. He was employed by Credit Lyonais.
Locally, he has worked with Big Brothers of Youngstown and served as president of the Warren Chamber Orchestra.
Infante, who said his background is in business, will run OWR until the board of directors names a permanent general manager.
Opera Western Reserve also announced that its fall production will be Mozart's "The Marriage of Figaro," which will be performed at 8 p.m. Nov. 10 in Stambaugh Auditorium, which is the company's home. Music director Susan Davenny Wyner will conduct and staging will be by David Vosburgh. The cast, orchestra and chorus will consist of local and regional artists.
The Youngstown Opera Guild's annual Georgio Tozzi Scholarship dinner will precede the "Figaro" performance. For more information regarding the opera and dinner, call the OWR at (330) 480-0693.
