Chaney beats Harding for 4-0 Steel Valley mark

Antaya James led the Cowgirls with 18 points and 13 kills.
YOUNGSTOWN -- Antaya James scored 18 points with two aces, 13 kills and two digs as the Chaney High girls volleyball team stayed unbeaten in Steel Valley Conference play with a 25-15, 18-25, 25-17, 25-22 victory over Warren Harding Wednesday.
Jasmyn Hopkins had seven kills and five blocks and Jacquela Teamor had 15 assists for the Cowgirls (10-4, 4-0).
Linda Hernon led the Raiders (5-8) with 27 points and 23 kills. Krystyn Lanagan had five aces and 59 assists. JVs: Warren Harding 25-19, 25-14.
Campbell 25-25-25,Wilson 15-16-13
CAMPBELL -- Jamie Dolan led the Red Devils (2-6) with six aces and two kills. Heather Hrelec had four kills. Victoria Steiner added six assists. JVs: Campbell 25-16, 25-17.
Mooney 25-22-12-25-15,Struthers 21-25-25-20-8
STRUTHERS -- Vicki Kocanjer had 26 points and 10 kills to lead Mooney (14-0), while Dayna Daltorio contributed 32 digs and Michelle Pelini eight kills.
For Struthers (4-11), Dana Varga had 27 assists, Jennifer McLaughlin 20 digs and Brianne Ciccone 17 kills. JVs: Mooney 25-26, 12-24.
Mathews 26-25-25,Maplewood 24-13-14
MECCA -- Sophie Paddock led the Mustangs (10-1, 8-1 NAC) with 14 kills and six blocks. Jordan Hardval had 10 points, 10 digs and four aces. Jenna Manz had 51 assists.
Brandi Vickerson led the Rockets with 12 points. Jamie Rumple had eight digs and Leah Dean had six kills. JVs: Mathews 25-19, 25-19.
Lordstown 25-25-25,Bloomfield 19-20-16
LORDSTOWN -- Meagan Gibson had 11 points, Alisha Miller eight assists, Ashley Gibbs six kills, Amanda Wickline six digs and Brianna Blodgett three aces for Lordstown (8-3, 6-2 NEC).
For Bloomfield (3-7, 3-6 NEC), Keshia Smith had 15 points and four kills and Angela Hennessey four blocks.
West Branch 25-22-25-18-15,Minerva 18-25-17-25-10
BELOIT -- Casey Benner scored 21 points had 11 kills, six blocks and seven digs to pace the Warriors (10-7, 5-4) in Tuesday's Northeastern Buckeye Conference match.
Lauren Pshsniak added 19 points, 12 kills and three assists. Alisha Wartluft scored 17 points and had six blocks.
JVs: West Branch 25-7, 25-19.
Mineral Ridge 18-22-26-25-15,Jackson-Milton 25-25-24-22-11
NORTH JACKSON -- Jen Frayer scored 13 points, with three aces to spark the Rams (8-3, 4-2 ICL). Abbey Kiger had 25 kills, five blocks and three aces.
Rachel Karash led the Bluejays (5-4, 4-2) with 25 points. Megan Whitmer added 22. Laura Yash had 16 kills and 14 blocks.
JVs: Jackson-Milton 23-25, 25-18, 15-6.
United 25-25-25,East Palestine 18-19-23
EAST PALESTINE -- Brittany Hofmeister paced the Golden Eagles (4-9, 4-5) with 10 blocks and six kills. Darlene Woolf had 13 blocks, five kills and 11 assists.
Jenn Yokley led the Bulldogs (8-7, 4-5 TCL) with eight points, 10 kills and 10 digs. Chelsea Peterson added 12 points.
JVs: United 25-22, 28-30, 15-11.
