AUSTINTOWN Suspect arrested in pistol attack

The victim said he shot at her foot but missed.
AUSTINTOWN -- A man accused of shooting at and then pistol-whipping a woman in the parking lot of a bar has been arrested after a monthlong search.
Carl T. Fisher, 25, of 37 E. Warren Ave., Youngstown, was arrested by the Mahoning County Violent Crimes Task Force at another East Warren Avenue address on Sept. 16, according to the Mahoning County Sheriff's Department.
Fisher appeared Monday in county court in Austintown on a felony charge of assault. He is set to appear in court for a pretrial hearing at 10 a.m. Oct. 13.
What happened
Fisher is accused of assaulting the woman Aug. 26 during an argument in the parking lot of Chipper's Sports Bar on North Edgehill Avenue.
Austintown police reported that the victim argued with Fisher over his having left her at the bar and driving away.
The woman told police that when Fisher returned, she got into the car and told him to take her home; he got angry and began to pull her out of the car, the report said.
Shot at her foot
She said she had one foot out of the car and on the pavement when Fisher shot at her foot but missed, the report said.
The woman told police that Fisher hit her in the head with the gun, the report said.
Fisher is in the Mahoning County jail, the sheriff's department said.
