Group plans to sponsor Farm Day event

MERCER -- Munnell Run Farm Foundation Inc. is sponsoring Farm Day from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 18.
Admission is free. The event will be held rain or shine at Munnell Run Farm, one mile north of Mercer on Route 58 West.
Scheduled activities include a local farmers' market, traditional arts and crafts, farm wagon rides, children's activities, butter making, trout nursery tours and local musicians.
Visitors can ride the free shuttle from Munnell Farm to McCullough's Coolspring Farm Market and Corn Maze and receive $1 off the regular admission price.
Other activities include the unveiling of Munnell Run Farm's Master Site Plan and the grand opening of the Mercer County Historical Society's Rural Life Museum.
Local organizations participating include the Neshannock Chapter of Trout Unlimited, the Mercer County Woodland Owners' Association and the Shenango River Watchers.
Staff and volunteers of the Mercer County Youth Conservation Camp will host a spit-roasted chicken dinner to help raise funds for the 2006 summer conservation camp.
