Bowlen sparks Falcons to 9-0 win

Jodi Bowlen scored three goals as Fitch rolled in a Federal League game.
AUSTINTOWN -- Jodi Bowlen scored three goals as the Austintown Fitch High girls soccer team trounced Canton McKinley Wednesday 9-0 in the Falcons' Federal League opener.
Krista Brendlinger added two goals while Amanda Sprowl, Dina Harris, Danielle Truswell and Tiarra Sanders scored one apiece for the Falcons (2-2-1).
Harris had two assists and Tessa Fairburn, Courtney Ciavarella, Sanders and Brendlinger each had one assist.
McKinley is 0-4, 0-2.
Boardman 3, Massillon Perry 0
BOARDMAN -- Junior Katie Stoll scored two unassisted goals and freshman Natalie DeChellis scored the third on an assist from freshman Lea Byers for Boardman (2-0) in a Federal League match. Lani Vlad and Kylie Thompson combined on the shutout.
JVs: Boardman 5, Perry 0.
Howland 3, Salem 0
SALEM -- Megan Long had two goals and Melissa Kohn one goal to lead Howland (4-0-1 and 1-0 MAC), while Erin Gilmour, Kaylin Hovance and Britany Martorana contributed one assist each.
Howland goalie Megan McLaughlin had four saves.
The Tigers outshot Salem, 23-4. Sarah Conrad had 20 saves for Salem (3-2-0).
Warren Harding 0, Warren JFK 0
WARREN -- Jenna Gilmore had six saves for JFK (5-0-1) in a Steel Valley Conference game. Stephanie Cross had 18 saves for Harding (1-2-2). JVs: Harding 1, JFK 0.
Maplewood 2, Badger 1
MECCA -- Junior Kristina Peterson scored both goals in the first half for the Rockets (3-1-2, 2-0 NAC). Freshman Erica Pinko had an assist. Leah Dean had eight saves.
Hannah Miller scored for the Braves (3-1, 1-1) on an assist by Shannon Suddon.
Katy Dvorack had 12 saves.
VIENNA -- Cory Leeson scored three goals and Wendy Twaddle added one for Crestview, which beat Mathews 4-1 in a boys soccer game Wednesday.
Greg Bing, James Frost and Danny Jones each added an assist for the Rebels (4-1-2).
Jake Klinger scored for the Mustangs.
