Mahoning Valley opens a six-game homestand tonight.

AUBURN, N.Y. -- Mike Woodson and Julio Garcia connected for RBI singles in the ninth inning Sunday to lead the Mahoning Valley Scrappers to a 3-2 victory over the Auburn Doubledays.

Jordan Brown and Chris Clem led off the ninth with consecutive singles against Doubledays closer Gabriel Afaro and scored on the hits by Woodson and Garcia.

The Scrappers had 13 hits as they evened their record to 3-3. Woodson and Garcia had three apiece while Brown had two.

Auburn third baseman Anthony Garibaldi's two hits included a triple and he scored three runs.

Joey Metropoulos homered and Eric Fowler worked for two-thirds of an inning to pick up the win in relief.

Trevor Crowe, the Cleveland Indians' first-round draft pick, saw his first action for the Scrappers. He doubled, scored twice, stole three bases and made a diving catch in center field.

Reliever Matt Loberg took the loss, giving up two runs in 2 1/3 innings.

The Scrappers open a six-game homestand today at 7 p.m. at Eastwood Field against the Batavia Muckdogs.
