Astro Falcons use rally to topple Wharmby, 3-2

Nick Brown tossed a one-hitter to lead Livi Steel.

STRUTHERS -- Astro Falcons scored twice in the bottom of the seventh inning to rally past Wharmby 3-2 in Class B action Sunday at Cene Park.

Jim Petrolla hit a one-out double in the seventh. After a strikeout, John Mang hit an RBI single to tie the game for Astro (14-4), which leads the Cene Division.

Jared Bartholomew doubled to put runners on second and third.

A wild pitch scored the winning run.

Kyle Smith (3-1) threw a complete game for the win, allowing one earned run with six strikeouts.

For Whamby (12-6) Billy Herman had two hits, while Lou Kopachy had a double.

Livi Steel 6,Dave Sugar Excavating 0

Nick Brown tossed a one-hitter for Livi Steel.

Brown had a no-hitter before giving up a leadoff single to Andrew Sarich in the top of the seventh.

Brown had eight strikeouts and did not walk a batter in winning his second game.

Manoli Pahoulis and Brock Stevens drove in two runs each for Livi (10-8).

Joel Imler took the loss for Sugar (7-11).

R & amp; J Trucking 8,Rondinelli Tuxedo 7

R & amp; J Trucking trailed 6-0 after the top of the third inning but scored five times in the fifth inning to rally.

Lou Coppola (2-0) went the distance for the win, striking out seven. R & amp; J had six hits, but scored five runs off nine walks.

Joe Fox had two hits for the winners, while Tony Brunetti had a pair of doubles for Rondinelli.

Matt Katich and Cory Collins had a double and a single each and Chuck Olesky a triple and a single for the losers.

Koch/Line Drive 11,Youngstown Express 0

Koch/Line Drive scored nine times in the bottom of the first to top the Express.

Greg Sansone (3-2) allowed two hits and had four strikeouts to get the win. Joe Iacobucci had a pair of singles for Koch/Line Drive (7-11).

Mike Berry and Mark Cartwright had singles for the Express (4-14).

Mink Financial 7, Roth Brothers 3

Mink (10-8) used a six-run fifth inning to break the game open.

Brett Grabman had a double and a single for the winners, while Ryan Myers tossed a two-hitter with six strikeouts.

Roth (2-16) scored three unearned runs in the seventh as Mink had four of its seven errors in the final frame.

Kyle Pitts suffered the loss for Roth as he went the first 42/3 innings, allowing four earned runs on five hits.

Late Saturday

R & amp; J Trucking (11-6) scored 16 runs over the last two innings to defeat Dave Sugar Excavating 17-4.

Mike Welce had a pair of doubles and a single while Jim Pasquine had two hits and drove in three runs.

Kevin Drummond added a pair of singles while Aaron Cosma went five innings for the win with three strikeouts.

Koch Construction/Line Drive 6, Wharmby Sports 5

Koch used a 13-hit attack to upset Wharmby.

Matt Ruble had three hits, one a double, while DJ Ronci, Joe Iacobucci, Joe Marino, and Greg Sansone added two hits each.

Calvin Clayton picked up the win, with Sansone tossing 21/3 innings of one-hit scoreless relief for the save.

He had five strikeouts for Koch/Line (6-11).
