Cortland Optimist post Warren AA win



WARREN -- Bob Boxler fired a two-hitter as Bazetta-Cortland Optimist posted a 5-1 victory over Lone Wolf Freight Systems in Warren Class AA League at Packard MacGregor Field. Boxler went 6 and 2/3 innings before giving up a single to Lone Wolf's Brian Smith. Justin Kurilichick hit a triple to drive in Lone Wolf's only run. Ryan Monti, Greg Bungo and Boxler each had two hits for the winners.
LBW Dawgs 13, Predator Trucking 6
With the score tied 5-5, the Dawgs scored seven runs to pull away. Mike VanDyke went 2-for-4 with two doubles and he scored twice for the Dawgs. Kendall Kokoski added two hits and he drove in three runs.
Metro Ice 2, MTC Knights 1
Jeremy Krol pitched a complete game with three strikeouts to earn his fifth win. All the scoring came in the first two innings, with Metro Ice getting the deciding run in the bottom of the second. Jim Skiffey hit a double and Derek Stanton and Rick DiMuzio each had two hits for the Knights.
