A summary of recent criminal activity in Poland and Boardman:

POLAND

June 17

Theft: A man discovered a red and black 20-inch bicycle had been stolen from near his garage in the 10 block of Island Drive.

BOARDMAN

June 14

Bad checks: An employee at the Shooting Gallery, 8070 Southern Blvd., told police he received two worthless checks totaling $8,500 as payment for a consignment deal.

Theft: A woman in the 900 block of Larkridge Drive reported her husband's $400 tailgate was stolen off his pickup truck.

Theft: A woman noticed a digital camera missing from her vehicle at her home in the 600 block of Squirrel Hill Drive.

Theft: A man reported the theft of a black and silver boys' bicycle while he was in the 6400 block of Market Street.

Theft/forgery: A man in the 800 block of Mapleridge Drive discovered checks stolen and that his name was forged.

Aggravated menacing: A woman in the 5000 block of Forest Park Drive told police her son was a victim after someone called threatening to shoot their residence.

Arrest: The mother of an 11-year-old Boardman boy brought him to police, who arrested him while conducting an assault investigation.

Theft: Police arrested a Youngstown man, 52, and accused him of stealing cheese from Giant Eagle, 476 Boardman-Canfield Road.

Theft: Police arrested two Youngstown men, 38 and 45, on theft charges after a pair of shoes was stolen from Shoe Carnival, 550 Boardman-Poland Road. One of the men also faced a charge of obstructing official business.

Theft: After a theft occurred at Sears in the Southern Park Mall, police arrested a 22-year-old Poland man and charged him with that crime.

Theft/drugs: A 32-year-old Salem woman faced one felony count of theft after she was accused of concealing merchandise while at Kohl's, 383 Boardman-Poland Road. She also was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor, after police say they found a suspected marijuana pipe in her possession.

Theft/drugs: Officers arrested an East Palestine woman, 18, on charges of theft and possession of drug paraphernalia. They say she tried to conceal merchandise while at Wal-Mart, 1300 Doral Drive, and that she had a suspected marijuana pipe.

Arrest: Police took into custody a 52-year-old Girard man in the Family Video parking lot, 5205 Market St. He was charged with two counts of criminal trespass after officers say he had been warned to stay off the business' property.

Arrest: A Mathews Road man, 45, was picked up at his residence on one count of obstructing official business.

June 15

Theft: A woman called police after finding out medications were stolen from her home in the 200 block of Meadowbrook Avenue.

Theft/criminal damage: A man reported a radio and compact disc player stolen or damage while he was at the Red Roof Inn, 1051 Tiffany Blvd.

Misuse of a credit card: An employee at Sparkle Market, 6315 Market St., reported a customer tried to buy $158.22 worth of cigarettes with an unauthorized credit card.

Theft: Police arrested a 40-year-old Boardman woman on two felony counts of theft after a shopper at Value City Department Store, 1130 Boardman-Poland Road, reported someone grabbed her purse from a shopping cart and fled on foot with it.

Theft: A Youngstown man, 31, was charged with theft after a Value City Department Store worker alleged he put on clothing and tried to leave without paying for the items.

Theft: An employee at Jim Mack Auto Sales, 438 E. Western Reserve Road, said a customer intentionally left with a set of keys belonging to a vehicle on the lot.

Theft: A 23-year-old Campbell woman faced a theft charge. She was accused of stealing a ring from Kohl's.

Theft: A man reported a toolbox, a circular saw, a power drill and several other tools stolen from his pickup truck while he was at Lowe's, 1100 Doral Drive.

Theft: Someone left an IGA store, 223 Boardman-Canfield Road, without paying for six steaks.

Theft by deception: Officers arrested a 39-year-old Akron man at the Olive Garden Italian Restaurant, 833 Boardman-Poland Road, and charged him with two counts of theft. An employee there, as well as a worker at the Longhorn Steakhouse, 953 Boardman-Poland Road, told police the same person left both businesses after failing to pay a bar tab.

Arrest: A woman, 21, was picked up at her Oregon Trail residence and turned over to Austintown police. She was wanted on two misdemeanor warrants charging her with one count each of receiving stolen property and possession of criminal tools.

June 16

Burglary: A Salinas Trail woman discovered someone had broken into her apartment.

Theft: A man reported the theft of two credit cards while he was at the YMCA, 45 McClurg Road.

Theft: A worker at the Blue Wolf Tavern, 1295 Boardman-Canfield Road, discovered four empty beer kegs had been removed.

Theft: A woman in the 6400 block of Tara Drive found out two subwoofers, an amplifier and a box of equipment had been stolen from her car.

Theft: A man at the Southern Park Mall discovered his cellular phone missing.

Aggravated menacing/attempted felonious assault: A woman told police her life and a friend's life were threatened while they were at a residence in the 1900 block of Mathews Road. She also reported the friend was nearly run over by a vehicle in the parking lot.

Criminal damage: A man reported his car was deliberately damaged while he was in the Taco Bell drive-through, 458 Boardman-Canfield Road.

Theft: A man told police former tenants took two fans while they in the process of moving from an apartment in the 6800 block of Glendale Avenue.

Vandalism: A man said he woke up to the sound of something striking his residence in the 2400 block of Hunters Ridge Drive.

Arrest: A 32-year-old Canfield woman wanted on a felony warrant from Boardman surrendered to police. The warrant charged her with theft of drugs.

Arrest: Police apprehended a Boardman woman, 54, after learning she was wanted on a felony warrant from Massillon charging her with receiving stolen property. She also was cited on charges of driving under suspension and having fictitious license plates.

Theft: Officers arrested a 23-year-old man from Mexico and charged him with theft after a CD was taken from Wal-Mart.

Arrest: Police arrested a 45-year-old Youngstown man during a traffic stop. He was wanted on a warrant charging him with failure to appear on the original charge of carrying a concealed weapon.

June 17

Theft: An employee at Pizza Hut, 708 Boardman-Canfield Road, discovered a theft at the business.

Vandalism: Someone used a key to damage the finish on six vehicles at Rick Bayus Motors, 5206 Youngstown-Poland Road.

Theft: A worker at Petland, 7338 Market St., called police after a customer left without paying for a puppy.

Burglary: A man reported $319 stolen after someone broke into his apartment in the 4000 block of South Schenley Avenue.

Arrest: Boardman police arrested and turned over to Columbiana County authorities a 28-year-old Columbiana man. He was wanted on two warrants charging him with failure to appear in court and domestic violence.
