Speed limit drops from 55 to 25 mph

NORTH LIMA -- Folks will soon be required to drive a little slower along Fox Run Lane.
Beaver Township trustees on Tuesday reduced the speed limit on that road from 55 mph to 25 mph. Police Chief Carl Frost said the move was made in response to residents' complaints about vehicles' speeding along the road, which is in a residential area. Township officials said the new speed limit will be posted as soon as possible.
In other news, the trustees accepted the resignation of Sandra Lewis, who resigned June 2. She worked as assistant to the township zoning inspector. The township is accepting applications for the part-time position.
Also, trustees hired Constandino G. Lolakis as a part-time police officer, effective today. Jennifer L. Semperger was hired as a reserve police officer, effective June 25. Christopher R. Albert was hired as a part-time dispatcher, effective today and as a reserve police officer, effective Aug. 7. All three employees were hired pending competition of required criminal background checks.
