55-PLUSLIBERTY

XMary Eck will preside when Liberty 55-Plus Senior Citizens meets at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Rocco Church hall in Liberty. Mary Presco, Julie Rosnosky and Ann Tipton will serve as hostesses. Plans will be made for the July picnic, and birthdays will be observed. There will be a 50-50 drawing, and cards will be played.

Members should call Eleanor Fortunato to report illnesses.

AARP 2520

XPoland Chapter 2520, AARP, will have a summer picnic at noon June 20 at the Poland United Methodist Church on Boardman-Poland Road. All members are asked to take a casserole or dessert and their own table setting and beverage. Hot dogs and buns will be provided by the club.

AARP 4339

XA veteran will speak when Austintown Chapter 4339, AARP, meets at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Grace Lutheran Church. Members may take canned peaches for the Rescue Mission. Tickets will be sold for $3 for the July 11 picnic to be held at 5 p.m. at Stacey Pavilion in Austintown Park. Members are to take casseroles, vegetables, salads and desserts, along with wrapped prizes for bingo.

Members may call Doris Snyder at (330) 799-0670 for information on the following tours: June 29, Gateway Clipper/luncheon cruise/Cahal Dunne; July 14, "Hello Dolly" at Academy Theater; and Aug. 13 and 20, "The Sound of Music" at Carousel Dinner Theatre.

The next board meeting is scheduled for June 20.

AARP 4611

XYoungstown Chapter 4611, AARP, will meet at 11:45 a.m. Wednesday at St. Augustine Church, Parmalee Avenue. Rosemary Antonucci will speak on prescription assistance. Birthdays for April, May and June will be celebrated, and a 50-50 drawing will be held. Members are reminded to pay their dues; new members are welcome. There will be no meetings in July and August.

BROWNLEE WOODS

XBrownlee Woods Senior Citizens will meet at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Faith Community United Church of Christ, corner of Sheridan Road and Midlothian Boulevard, for crafts and cards. New members are welcome.

CMHS 47ERS

XCampbell Memorial High School January and June Classes of 1947 will meet for breakfast at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Denny's restaurant in Boardman.

GIRARD

XGirard Senior Citizens will meet at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the senior center. The group's annual picnic will be held after the business meeting, and bingo will follow. Call Aleta Peck at (330) 545-6435 for reservations.

GIRARD REAC 2172

XGirard REAC 2172 will resume meetings on the first and third Thursday of the month. The next event will be a Father's Day luncheon at 11 a.m. Thursday at Scenna's Family Restaurant, U.S. Route 422 Afterward, members will go to the Eagles Hall, Wilson Avenue, for card and games.

GOLDEN PILLARS

XA noon meeting of the Golden Pillars of St. Mary Church will be held Tuesday at St. Mary Assumption Social Center, South Belle Vista Avenue. Lunch will be served, and a social with cards and bingo will follow. John Gresko will be honored as Father of the Year, and Eleanor Hnat will preside for business. Members are reminded to take their own place setting. There will be no Mass held beforehand.

IMMACULATE HEART

XThe annual picnic for Immaculate Heart of Mary Senior Citizens will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Monsignor Prokop Parish Center. Lunch will be catered, and supper will also be served. Helen Venglarik will preside for business, and installation of officers will be held. A 50-50 drawing will be held, and birthdays and anniversaries will be observed. J.C. PENNEY

XRetirees of J.C. Penney will meet for lunch at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Nancy's Place, Shady Run Road. Plans will be made for a picnic in July.

MARTHA LUPSE

XBridge, 500, chess and checkers will be played when Martha Lupse 50-Plus Card and Game Club meets from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Thursday in Room 106 at Poland United Methodist Church. Janet Pusser will lead devotions. Members are reminded to take a sack lunch. Coffee and tea will be provided. No affiliation with the church is required for participation. OBES

XOBES Retirees will meet Wednesday at the Hometown Buffet in Boardman. The meeting will start at 11:45 a.m., and a lunch will follow. No formal program is scheduled. All OBES retirees are welcome.

ST. ANTHONY

XSt. Anthony Senior Club will meet at 1 p.m. Tuesday in DeMarinis Hall. Luncheon committee consist of Mary Modena, Betty Rudolphi and Jean Raniol. Raffles will be held by Sam Lavanty and Steve Sebastian. Picnic raffle returns will be accepted at this meeting.

A day trip to Wheeling Dog Races and Casino is scheduled for Wednesday; nonmembers are welcome. To check on availability of seats, call Tony Valley at (330) 759-1333.

ST. BRENDAN

XMembers of St. Brendan Senior Citizens will meet at noon Monday in Maxwell Hall with Ann Smith presiding. Ann Banyots and Verna Dues will give reports, and $4 will be collected for next month's luncheon.

Members are asked to report sickness or death to Theresa Vivaqua at (330) 793-2792.

ST. CHRISTINE

XA meeting of St. Christine Senior Citizens will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Gutman Hall with Harriet Moschella presiding and Jeanne Baechly and Mary Jo Theis giving reports. Hosts will be John and Peg Coan, Josephine Vuletich and Clara Merlo. Bingo and cards will be played, and there will be a 50-50 drawing. Members may sign up for the July 13 picnic. The event is free to members with six or more meetings; cost is $9 for others. Guests are welcome.

ST. DOMINIC

XCards and bingo will be played when St. Dominic Senior Citizens meets at noon June 21 at Nancy's Place, Shady Run Road. Ann Lattro will preside. Reservations or cancellations should be made by Wednesday; call Sara Calderone at (330) 757-1517. New members and guests are welcome.

SEARS FRIENDSHIP

XSears Friendship Club will hold its monthly luncheon at noon Monday at Harvest Buffet in the Boardman Plaza. Card bingo will be played. All former female Sears employees are welcome.

SILVER AND GOLD

XSilver and Gold Club will meet at noon Tuesday at the Elton Beard Log Cabin in Boardman Township Park, for the annual picnic. Members are asked to take wrapped white elephant gifts.

WEST SIDE

XMembers are asked to take their assigned food items when West Side Seniors meet at noon Tuesday at the Sam Camens Center. This is the last meeting until September.

XUpcoming activities for senior citizens organizations are published Sunday. Please submit information to the Society Department by noon Thursday.
