Landing fees lightened

PITTSBURGH -- The Allegheny County Airport Authority reduced fees for landing and leasing space at Pittsburgh International Airport until Dec. 31. More flights than authorities expected or budgeted for caused the reductions. Landing fees decreased 33 percent, or about $1 per 1,000 pounds. Terminal fees decreased 26.5 percent, and ramp fees decreased about 26 percent. The reduced rates apply to airlines under long-term contracts with the airport. Other carriers must pay the regular rate, which is at least 20 percent higher.
