Beight Farm: Summer evening camp from 5-7 p.m. several nights a week for inner-city youth. Needed are volunteers to entertain or help with the activities.
Children's Museum of the Valley: Can assist with the one-day special events through the summer and with the mini-camps the month of July.
Golden Strings Golf Outing: Help with the golf outing, whose proceeds help the mentally challenged in our area.
Relay For Life: Walkers and/or assistants are wanted for these locations: Roosevelt Park, June 24-25; Lakeview High School, Friday and Saturday; and Springfield High School, June 17-18.
Special Olympics: People are needed to help the athletes Saturday at the Austintown Fitch High School track.
Summer Festival of the Arts: July 9-10 at Youngstown State University. Jobs for volunteers include the information booth, checking-in of artists, assisting with the children's activities and the 5K run. Shifts are available.
Wick Neighbors Inc.: Help with these events: Smoky Hollow 5K run and Family Fun walk, Thursday and Friday.
American Red Cross Disaster Services: Help with light office duties, answering the phones and computer work.
Beight Farm: Help with planting, weeding, maintenance and harvesting at the farm located in New Middletown. It produces food for the needy.
Children's Rights Council/The Gift Exchange: Help facilitate the exchange of a child between parents. It is located at Boardman Christian Church.
Children's Museum of the Valley: Be docents or receptionists and help with the museum activities.
Citizen Corps: Looking for people interested in making their community a safer place to live, especially following a disaster or emergency. Training is offered.
Forum Health: Help in the gift shop at the new Women's and Infants Pavilion at Beeghly Medical Center. Shifts are available.
Family/Group Volunteering: Many opportunities for families and groups to help their community.
Park Vista Retirement Community: Help is needed to re-organize their library, and also to run The Knic Knac Store, which is for residents and their families.
RSVP/Senior Safety: Make informal presentations to senior citizens about safety.
Volunteer Services To Seniors: Assist senior citizens who want to remain independently in their own home. They might provide grocery shopping, friendly visits and calls, or trips to the doctor's office.
