STRUTHERS -- Tad Gaspar pitched a two-hitter with four strikeouts as Youngstown Express shut out Koch Construction/Line Drive Academy 1-0 Friday in Class B League at Cene Park.
Express' (2-2) J.R. Gibson was walked leading off the bottom of the first inning. He stole second base, moved to third on a groundout and scored on a single by Jim King, who also had another single.
No Koch/Line Drive runner reached third base in the game.
Dave Diyorio was the tough luck loser as he allowed just four hits with nine strikeouts.
Matt Ruble hit a double and single for Koch/Line Drive (1-3).
Mink Financial 11, Sugar 1
The Mink bats came alive in the third inning as it scored 11 runs and Mike Sugar Excavating couldn't recover.
Dave Piersante and Mike Brown had a double and a single each, while Ryan Myers and Lonnie McQueen added doubles for Mink (2-2).

Rondinelli used a 12-hit attack to remain unbeaten (4-0).

Four of Wharmby Sports' (3-1) six hits were for extra bases. Andy Chrobak tossed a four-hitter and struck out nine for his second straight shutout.
Billy Herman hit a two-run home run, while Jake Gross had a single, double and two RBIs. J.C. McCoy and Tom Popidak each hit a double.
Roth (0-4) only had one batter reach second base in the contest.
R & amp;J Trucking 4, Astros 1
Aaron Cosmo (1-0) scattered four hits with nine strikeouts to pick up the win and hand the Astros (3-1) their first loss of the season.
Joe Rosko and Jim Pasquine had RBI singles for R & amp;J (3-1).
Drew Turocy of the Astros also scattered four hits and struck out 12. Only two of the runs he allowed were earned.
YOUNGSTOWN -- Eric Jones hit a home run in the top of the ninth inning as Roth Brothers posted a 5-4 victory over Youngstown Metros in Class AA League at Pemberton-Donnell Park.
Roth Brothers took a 1-0 lead in the first inning, but the Metros pulled ahead with a three-run rally in the sixth.
In the top of the seventh Roth went ahead again as it scored three times, but the Metros answered with a run in the bottom of the inning to send the contest into extra innings.
Rich McNeil came on in relief in the sixth inning, scattered four hits and struck out three to pick up the win.
Ryan Johnson, George Rohan and Jones each had two hits for the winners. Dave Lough hit a triple and a pair of singles for the Metros, while Dan Bartolini and Scott Bender had two hits apiece.
WARREN -- Dave Nypayer hit a two-run homer to lead Metro Ice over LBW Dawgs, 10-6.
Nypayer had three RBIs for Metro Ice to support winning pitcher Ted Sulich.
Also, D & amp;K Roofing defeated Predator Trucking 5-0, as Jeremy Burnett allowed three hits and struck out 11 in a complete game.
Penn Ohio defeated MTC Knights 9-2. No first names were provided.
