Lauren Elayne Donatelli-Seyler will receive her doctorate in osteopathic medicine from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine, Erie, Pa., in a ceremony June 12. Donatelli-Seyler is the daughter of Bobbi and Jay Donatelli of Lowellville.
Donatelli-Seyler is a 1996 graduate of Lowellville High School and a 2001 graduate of Youngstown State University with a bachelor's degree in biology.
Donatelli-Seyler and her husband, Clarke Seyler, of Poland, will be moving to Mount Clement, Mich., where Donatelli-Seyler will begin her surgical residency at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit.
Badger teen earns honor
Eric Smith, son of Randy Smith, Hartford Township, and Mary Smith, Cortland, received the Eagle Scout Award at a Court of Honor ceremony May 15 at the Hartford United Methodist Church.
Eric is a member of Western Reserve Council, Boy Scouts of America, Troop 90, with Gary Brainard as scoutmaster. The Eagle Award was presented to Eric by Brainard. who asked Eric's mother to pin the badge on her son's uniform. An Eagle rank neckerchief and slide were presented by his father who is also assistant scoutmaster. A recognition plaque was also presented to Eric by Ed Newton, representing the Hartford Optimists, Troop 90's chartering organization.
Eric has been a member of Troop 90 since 2001 and attends Joseph Badger High School as a freshman honors student. His scouting leadership experience includes holding the office of senior patrol leader, patrol leader, assistant patrol leader and chaplain's aid. He is also a brotherhood member of the Order of Arrow.
Eric's Eagle service project included landscaping a portion of Meadowbrook Nursing Home in Hartford, as well as building picnic tables for the home. His activities outside of scouting include being a member of the Badger cross country and track and field teams, high school band, French club, Academic Challenge team and North-Mar C & amp;MA Church Youth Group.
