Quote/unquote

"Woo-hoo! It's really cool because the people in their ads are really prominent people in what they do. I'm really happy to be a part of it." -- Singer Kelly Clarkson, on being a part of the "got milk?" ad campaign, in J-14 magazine.

"I'm not perfect. But you know what? I used to look at girls in magazines and think I could never be that -- and now I'm that girl!" -- Ashlee Simpson, in Twist magazine.

"Leprechaun. I was small and elflike." -- Actor Robin Williams ("Robots"), on his childhood nickname, in People.

The Black Maria

If you feel the need for a different type of punk in your life, get a load of this. The Black Maria's first album "Lead Us to Reason" couldn't have come at a better time. As the winner of the Yahoo "Who's Next?" contest, The BM blew everyone away with its melancholy lyrics and immense instrumental skill. These five guys combine keyboards, guitars, drums and vocals for a sound similar to Good Charlotte, but with a style that is all their own. This band is off to a successful start, and is just starting to tour North America. For info on tour dates, a sample of music from the album, videos and/or pix, go to www.theblackmaria.com.
