Paint ballers terrorize Southwest Side

Published: Fri, June 3, 2005 @ 12:00 a.m.

WARREN -- Men driving around the Southwest Side on Wednesday caused injury and property damage when they fired paintballs at people and a house.

Police are looking for the dark-colored vehicle used in the crimes.

Their reports show the trouble started around 10 p.m. when a 24-year-old Maxwell Street N.W. man reported that he was knocked off his bicycle in the area of Palmyra and Parkman roads southwest. He told police several men in a dark-colored vehicle shot paint balls at him; police noted he received minor injuries.

Twenty minutes later, a 29-year-old Austin Avenue woman reported that a vehicle passed by and she was shot in the neck with a paint ball gun. She too had a minor injury, police said.

Five minutes after that, at 10:25 p.m., a 50-year-old Martin Luther King Boulevard S.W. woman told police that people shot three paint balls at her home, damaging the siding.
