Summary of recent criminal activity in Canfield City and Austintown Township:

CANFIELD

May 24

Criminal damage, theft: A 1993 Toyota was broken into at the Colonial Plaza, 259 High St., and a pink velvet purse, a brown purse with flowers on it and a black purse were stolen. A rear passenger seat was broken out to gain entry.

Mutual aid: Boardman police requested Canfield's K-9 tracker to aid in tracking a would-be thief or prowler who fled on foot from a business after setting off the alarm.

May 26

Drug abuse: A 23-year-old Youngstown man was arrested on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and drug abuse during a traffic stop on West Main Street. The man was charged with possession drug paraphernalia and drug abuse after police found a cigar box containing a plastic tube with cocaine residue in it, two blunt roaches and a suspected silver metal pipe containing marijuana residue, rolling papers and a marijuana roach.

May 27

Drug paraphernalia: A 36-year-old Canfield man was stopped at South Hillside Drive at Carriage Hill Drive on a traffic violation and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. His vehicle was impounded.

Theft from auto: A wallet was stolen from an auto at Pilot Oil, 1150 N. Canfield-Niles Road.

Pot, paraphernalia: A 17-year-old Leavittsburg boy was arrested on charges of drug abuse, drug paraphernalia and fictitious plates, and a 15-year-old Leavittsburg boy was charged with drug abuse, obtaining and possessing marijuana after police found a marijuana joint inside a cigarette box, and for being a delinquent child. A 38-year-old Leavittsburg man was arrested on a Trumbull County warrant for sexual battery and for possession of drug paraphernalia. The juveniles were both cited into Mahoning County Juvenile Court and released to their parents and the older man was picked up by Trumbull deputies.

May 28

Drug paraphernalia: Two 17-year-old Boardman youths were arrested, one, a female, for possession of drug paraphernalia after police found a dark, multi-colored pipe with marijuana residue in it, and a male for possession of a multi-colored pipe with marijuana residue. The female was charged with being a delinquent child for drug paraphernalia possession, cited into juvenile court and released to her parents. The male was released to his parents and charged with having no Ohio license, running a red light while driving the girl's car, cited into juvenile court and released to his parents.

AUSTINTOWN

May 23

Drug offense: Police arrested a Warrensville Heights, Ohio, man at state Route 46 and Silica Road on a charge of possession of marijuana.

Theft from auto: Tools were stolen from a vehicle in the 5000 block of Tulane Avenue.

Breaking and entering: Someone gained entry through an unlocked door and tools were stolen at the old Century 21 Paints, 168 S. Meridian Road.

Theft: A cell phone was taken from Pete and Charlie's Pub, 4176 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: Thieves went in through an open door and stole an air compressor in the 100 block of Forest Hill Drive.

Theft from auto: Tools were taken from a truck in the 2000 block of Bainbridge St.

Theft: Meat was taken by an unknown man at Giant Eagle, 5220 Mahoning Ave.

Receiving: A Spencer, Tenn., man was arrested on a charge of receiving stolen property -- a semi rig -- at the TA Travel Center, 5400 76 Drive.

May 24

Disorderly conduct: A man was arrested in the 4000 block of Westchester Drive on disorderly conduct and resisting arrest charges.

Auto theft: A 2000 GMC Yukon was stolen from Denny's Restaurant, 4927 Mahoning Ave.

Criminal damage: A window was broken at the Austintown Fire Department station No. 4, 1690 S. Turner Road.

Attempted aggravated burglary: A man attempted to enter an apartment in the 4000 block of Westchester Drive.

Theft: Two juvenile females were arrested on theft charges at Wal-Mart, 6001 Mahoning Ave.

May 25

Theft: A six-foot cooler was stolen from the Ice House Inn, 5516 W. Webb Road.

Theft: An unknown amount of currency was stolen from a concession stand at St. Anne's Church, 4310 Kirk Road.

Fraud: Work was paid for that was not done in the 3000 block of Edinburgh Drive.

Theft: A victim's license and Social Security card were stolen in the 500 block of Notre Dame Avenue.

Theft: A purse was taken from a victim at Rulli Brothers, 4331 Kirk Road.

Theft: $27.40 in gasoline was stolen from Sheetz gas station, 5499 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: $38.33 in gasoline was stolen from Sheetz gas station.

Burglary: The front door was forced open and a purse was taken from a residence in the 80 block of North Navarre Avenue.

Theft: Gasoline was stolen from the B.P. gas station, 3602 Mahoning Ave.

Criminal damage: A window was broken by unknown means at a residence in the 4000 block of New Road.

May 26

Criminal damage: A vehicle was damaged by a pellet gun in the 7000 block of Mahoning Avenue.

Burglary: A residence in the 400 block of S. Canfield-Niles Road was entered by unknown means and a gun and other items were stolen.

Burglary: Two televisions, a PSP and DVDs were stolen from an apartment in the 100 block of Compass West.

Auto theft: A 1993 Ford Explorer was stolen from the 5000 block of Mahoning Ave.

Drug offense: An Austintown woman was arrested on a charge of possession of crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia. The items were found in an apartment in the 50 block of Westminster Avenue.

Theft: A ring was stolen from the office at Best Value Inn, 1051 N. Canfield-Niles Road.

Theft: $20.57 in gasoline was stolen from the B.P. gas station, 5502 Mahoning Ave.

Criminal damage: A vehicle window was broken at IGA, 4477 Mahoning Ave.

May 28

Theft from vehicle: A driver's side window was broken and a radio stolen from a vehicle at Blue Ribbon Motors, 4004 Mahoning Ave.

Drug offense: A Niles man was arrested at Meridian Road and Interstate 680 on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and marijuana.

Criminal damaging: A vehicle window was damaged in the 4000 block of Selkirk Avenue.

Theft: Fuel was taken from Pilot Oil, 1150 N. Niles-Canfield Road.

May 29

Liquor violation: A 19-year-old man was charged with possession of alcohol and another 19-year-old Austintown man was arrested on South Raccoon Road on a charge of possession of marijuana.

Assault: A woman was placed in county jail on a charge of assault at Sheetz gas station.

Criminal damage: A vehicle was damaged in the 5000 block of Tulane Avenue.

Drug offense: A 48-year-old Warren man was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, criminal trespass and obstructing official business, a 47-year-old Warren man was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and a 25-year-old Warren woman was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. The arrests took place at Pilot Oil, 1150 N. Canfield-Niles Road.

Drug offense: A 20-year-old Newark, Ohio, man was charged with drug abuse marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, a 19-year-old Youngstown man was charged with drug abuse marijuana and a 19-year-old Columbus man was charged with possession of marijuana. They were arrested at Country Inn, 5570 Interstate Blvd.

Criminal damage: A vehicle was damaged in the 2000 block of Oak Trace Drive.

Criminal damage: Two vehicles were damaged at the same address in the 5000 block of Cider Mill Run.

Criminal damage: A vehicle was damaged in the 5000 block of Willowcrest Drive.

Fraud: An account was opened in the victim's name at Ohio Edison and $724 is owed. The crime was reported at a residence in the 500 block of N. Canfield-Niles Road.

Criminal damage: A door window was damaged by a BB pellet at Meridian Arms Living Center, 650 S. Meridian Road.

Burglary: Vicodin, cash and furniture were stolen from a residence in the 1000 block of County Line Road.

Criminal damage: Scratches were found on the driver's side door of one vehicle and another vehicle was scratched in the 5000 block of Saratoga Avenue.

Criminal damage: Two vehicles were damaged in the 5000 block of Saratoga Avenue.

Criminal mischief: Roofing nails were thrown into the rear yard at a residence in the 5000 block of London Drive.
