PREP PREVIEW \ State softball

Where: All state softball games are played at Ashland's Brookside Park. To get there, follow I-76 west of Akron to I-71 south, proceed 20 miles to the Ashland exit and follow state Route 250 through Ashland. About a mile past the downtown, watch for a sign on the right for Brookside Park.

Division IV

Many, including the Higgins twins play on a summer traveling team -- Denman Tires -- that has won four state titles in the last six years. They have advanced to state six straight years. The coach is Ed Anthony and their record in the past six years is 204-6. ... Stepfanie Higgins said, "I love playing with Lindsey. We've always pitched and caught each other since we were little in the backyard." ... Kiser says this is best defensive team in his four years -- just 10 errors.
