WARREN -- Monday is the deadline for reduced-cost registration for the World of Wildlife 2005 Bicycle Ride, a benefit bicycle tour for Trumbull County Metroparks.
The ride, scheduled for Aug. 14, is sponsored by the Friends of the Western Reserve Greenway. The ride will cover up to 40 miles on the greenway.
The cost is $15 per rider, and a T-shirt can be purchased for an additional $5. A form is available online at www.ndcis.com/wow.
Registration the day of the event will be from 9 to 11 a.m. at Kent State University Trumbull Campus in Champion. Cost is $20 per rider the day of the event.
The trail passes through large sections of premier wetlands, home to much wildlife and many species of rare and endangered plant life. Someone will be at the observation deck in Mosquito Lake Wildlife Area most of the day to answer questions about local flora and fauna.
Members of the Trumbull County Metroparks Bike Patrol will be patrolling the path all day and will be available to answer any questions or other concerns.
Snacks will be provided along the way and a raffle is being offered with more than 50 bicycle-related prizes donated by local businesses. For more information, a list of raffle prizes or directions visit the Web site or call (330) 652-2898.
