SHARON, Pa. -- Sharon City Center will be home to the third annual Swingin' Car Cruise from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Saturday.
All cars and participants can register for the show between 8 and 10 a.m. The first 500 cars will receive a free dash plaque.
Cars will line East State Street in the downtown. That section of the street will close at 7 a.m. Saturday for the show.
Spectators will vote on entries, and trophies will be awarded to three cars that receive the most votes. Mayor David Ryan will also select a car for an award, and another trophy will go to the car which traveled the greatest distance to participate.
Car enthusiast groups from across Ohio and Pennsylvania have been invited to take part in the show and will be featured in Reyer's Shoe Store's parking lot.
The Don Burns Orchestra, a big band group, will perform 12:30 to 3 p.m. The 2nd Avenue Project, a seven-piece Las Vegas-style show band, will perform 2:30 to 5:30 p.m.
At 2:30 p.m., a swing dancing competition will begin, judged by local dance instructors.
Some $600 in Certifichecks, gift certificates from Shenango Valley Chamber of Commerce members, will be awarded to winners of the competition: $300 for first place, $200 for second place and $100 for third place.
New to the show this year will be an artist's bazaar and craft show behind First National Bank.
There will also be a 50/50 raffle, door prizes and food vendors.
The Swingin' Car Cruise is sponsored by Winner Aviation, which is located at the Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport.
