Share increases declared

YOUNGSTOWN -- United Community Financial Corp. (Nasdaq: UCFC) has declared its third quarter dividend of 8.25 cents per share, payable Sept. 15 to shareholders of record on Aug. 31.

United Community is the holding company for The Home Savings and Loan Company (Home Savings) and Butler Wick Corp. (Butler Wick), both headquartered in Youngstown.

Home Savings operates 36 full-service banking offices and six loan production offices located throughout Ohio and western Pennsylvania.

Butler Wick has 14 office locations providing full service retail brokerage, capital markets or trust services throughout the same region.

The company recently reported earnings of 22 cents per share for the second quarter of 2005, an increase of 5 cents per share over earnings in the second quarter of 2004.
