Couple files lawsuit against commissioners
WARREN -- A Youngstown couple has filed a lawsuit against Trumbull County commissioners and the county engineer, seeking in excess of $25,000.
Jacqueline and Sherwood Armour, 2155 McGuffey Road, filed their action in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court.
They name as defendants Commissioners James Tsagaris, Paul Heltzel and Daniel Polivka; county Engineer John Latell; and James Reihard, who was operating a truck in the scope of his county employment.
Generally the county refers such claims to its insurance carrier.
Jacqueline A. Armour says she was driving east on U.S. Route 422 in Southington Township on March 16, 2004, when Reihard was driving a truck, also eastbound. She says he negligently caused a collision.
She alleges several injuries, some of which may be permanent. Her husband, Sherwood, claims loss of companionship and consortium of his wife.
They seek judgment in excess of $25,000. The case was filed by Atty. Alan J. Matavich of Youngstown and is assigned to Judge John Stuard.
