The Vindicator/Robert K.Yosay

So how hot was it?

It was so hot that you looked for coolness wherever you could find it, like 13-year-old Derek Richardson of Canfield, who tried to beat the heat by taking advantage of a bottle of water and shade provided by trees along Cardinal Drive. It was so hot -- 92 degrees -- that we broke the record for July 25, beating the previous high by 1 degree. It was so hot that we tied the record for this year (it was 92 back on June 26, too). And it was so hot that the entire Buckeye State sweltered right along with us. Story, B3
