Youngstown woman installed as state president in Cincinnati


CINCINNATI -- Donna Russo of Youngstown was elected and installed as president of the State of Ohio VFW Auxiliary at the June 26 convention in Cincinnati.
She is 27-year member of the VFW Post 3307 Auxiliary, Youngstown, having joined under the eligibility of her late husband, Frank.
She has served as chairwoman for many auxiliary programs on the local, district and state level and is the recipient of numerous awards for her work.
She was installed by Chloe Williams, past president of the Department of Ohio. Carol Bordner, also a department past president, served as installing secretary.
Other officers installed were Jan Merrick, senior vice president, of Painesville; Marti Bridges, junior vice president, Whitehall; Marge Boso, secretary/treasurer, Grove City, Ohio; Deb Clevidence, chaplain, Loudon-ville; Meg Klaameyer, conductress, of Lorain; and Cindy Painter, guard, Canal Winchester.
Dixie Hild of Nebraska, currently serving as national conductress, was present for the installation.
During her yearlong term, Russo will travel extensively throughout the state, meeting with the members.
The State of Ohio Auxiliary has 47,300 members.
