Between 36-40 teams are expected to compete in the 43rd Connie Mack state baseball tournament, which begins Saturday at Cene Park in Struthers and Koch-Culligan Field in Austintown.
A drawing for the double-elimination event will be held Friday at Mr. Anthony's in Boardman at 5 p.m.
Between 18-20 games are scheduled Saturday starting at 9 a.m. A fireworks display will follow on Cene 1 after the 7:30 p.m. games.
Six Youngstown Class B League teams will participate in the tournament, including Class B league champion Mink Financial and Levi Steel, Astro Falcons, Wharmby Sports, R & amp;J Trucking and Rondinelli Tuxedo. Koch/Line Drive Select, an independent team with local players coached by Scott Knox, is also entered.
Three Class B League teams will play in 5 p.m. games and three more in 7:30 contests Saturday. Last year, Andy's 9ers defeated Troy American League for the championship.
Winners advance to Connie Mack regional tournaments at Oxford and Battle Creek, Michigan.
