Published: Tue, July 12, 2005 @ 12:00 a.m.

BOARDMAN -- A 50-year-old Youngstown woman was charged with misdemeanor endangering children, accused of leaving her 3-year-old granddaughter in a vehicle unattended.

Carla DeFoor, of East Dewey Avenue, told police that she went into a store in the Boardman Plaza on Saturday afternoon to make a purchase, and continued to look out the store window, ensuring the vehicle was OK.

According to a police report, the child was crying when a police officer arrived, saying that she was scared. All of the windows of the car were down 2 to 3 inches.

The report says the temperature was 81 degrees.
