School district plans to poll residents

Published: Tue, July 12, 2005 @ 12:00 a.m.

CHAMPION -- Township residents later this month will get a call from Champion Local Schools seeking input on an improvement plan.

Several hundred residents have been selected at random to be part of the telephone survey. They will be contacted from 6:30 to 9 p.m. July 19 and 20.

The school district, in conjunction with the Ohio School Boards Association, is gathering thoughts on school district matters to be used in updating the district's strategic plan for improvement.

The district is focusing its improvement plan on areas of communication, curriculum, safety, facilities and management.

Providing volunteer survey callers are the Trumbull County Educational Service Center and the Trumbull Career and Technical Center.

The telephone survey will take seven to 10 minutes and is confidential. There are no right or wrong answers.

All responses will be combined and then averaged to give the school district a general picture of what residents think.

Residents won't be asked how they voted on past school levies, or how they would vote in the future.
