Published: Sun, July 10, 2005 @ 12:00 a.m.

CANFIELD -- Bicyclists will ride through the Mill Creek watershed Aug. 6 in the fourth annual Watershed Ride.

Registration for the ride is $10 and commemorative shirts may be ordered. Deadline for ordering T-shirts is July 29. Deadline for registration is Aug. 5. A light lunch is included in the cost of registration.

The course is rolling and covers about 30 miles from Canfield Township to the headwaters of Mill Creek, south of Columbiana. Last year more than 50 riders completed the course. Included in the route map will be interpretive notes on the Mill Creek watershed, and riders will be treated to several scenic vistas of the Mill Creek Valley.

The event is sponsored by AWARE (Alliance for Watershed Action and Riparian Easements), Mahoning SWCD, Mill Creek Metro Parks, Youngstown State University and the Outspokin' Wheelmen.

For information or registration materials, contact Mahoning SWCD at (330) 533-2231.
