Summary of recent criminal activity in Canfield city and Austintown Township:

CANFIELD

June 27

Drug abuse: A 26-year-old Canfield man was arrested in the 10 block of Newton Square on a charge of drug abuse after heroin was found on him. A fight preceded the arrest between the man and his girlfriend's father, who was trying to get the drug away from him, so he wouldn't use it.

July 1

Drug possession: A 25-year-old Youngstown man was arrested on East Main Street on charges of drug possession and possession of drug paraphernalia. Police found a small bag of marijuana and rolling papers.

July 3

Shoplifting: A 47-year-old Youngstown man was arrested on a theft charge for stealing a tube of ointment from Giant Eagle and issued a criminal trespass warning for all Giant Eagle stores.

Drugs: Police arrested a 37-year-old Brookfield man on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia after finding him with a black and gold pipe with marijuana residue and a small bag of suspected marijuana in his pants pocket.

AUSTINTOWN

June 27

Drug Offense: A Warren man was arrested on charges of drug abuse of cocaine at state Route 46 and Willowcrest Drive.

Criminal damage: Damage to a vehicle window was reported at Phoenix Disposal, 38 S. Meridian Road.

Drug offense: An East Rochester, Ohio, man was arrested on a charge of possession of cocaine at North Four Mile Run Road and Oakwood Avenue.

Breaking and entering: Hand and air tools were taken from a garage in the 100 block of Shutrump Court.

Theft: A crossbow was stolen from a residence in the 5000 block of Norquest Boulevard.

Burglary: Keys were stolen and a 2005 GMC Envoy taken from the 4000 block of Lanterman Road. The vehicle was recovered by Poland police, who made an arrest.

Theft: A woman is a suspect in a theft at Sheetz gas station, 5499 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: A trailer was stolen from the future site of Home Depot in the 6000 block of Mahoning Avenue.

Receiving stolen property: A Youngstown woman was arrested on charges of having stolen checks, drug abuse of cocaine and possession of dangerous drugs. She was placed in Mahoning County jail after being arrested at Farmers National Bank, 22 N. Canfield-Niles Road.

Theft from auto: A purse was stolen from a vehicle at McQuaid's, 702 N. Meridian Road.

Assault: A man was assaulted at Burger King, 5310 Mahoning Avenue.

Theft: $60 in cash was stolen from an apartment in the 4000 block of Kirk Road.

Theft: A DVD/VCR and DVD movies were stolen from a residence in the 5000 block of Tulane Avenue.

June 28

Theft: 11.9 gallons of gasoline were stolen from Sheetz gas station.

Theft: 23.5 gallons of gasoline were stolen from Sheetz gas station.

Sex offense: An unknown male approached a victim's vehicle naked at North Meridian Road and Oakwood Avenue.

Theft: A theft was reported at Parkside Auto Mall, 565 N. Canfield-Niles Road.

Recovered property: A Huffy bicycle was recovered in the 1000 block of North Four Mile Run Road.

Theft: Fuel was taken from True North gas station, 3670 S. Meridian Road.

Stalking: A man is accused of stalking at Alterra, 1420 S. Canfield-Niles Road.

Theft: A handbag was stolen from a female at Kmart, 4475 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: A woman was issued a summons for theft at Giant Eagle, 5220 Mahoning Ave.

June 29

Obstruction: A woman is accused of obstructing official business of police at Wendy's, 27 S. Raccoon Road.

Criminal damaging: A pool solar cover was damaged in the 6000 block of Ridgeview Drive.

Breaking and entering: A copier, chairs and television were stolen at Westview Center, 5212 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: Lottery tickets and cigarettes were stolen by an employee at BP gas station, 5502 Mahoning Ave.

Breaking and Entering: A clock and space heater were taken from Westview Center, 5212 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: Scrap metal was taken at Main Steel, 3805 Hendricks Road, by a suspect in a silver/burgundy S-10 pickup.

Theft from auto: The rear Ohio license plate was stolen from a vehicle in the parking lot at IGA, 4477 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: Fuel was taken from Sheetz gas station.

Theft from auto: An Ohio temporary license tag was stolen from a vehicle in the 600 block of South Raccoon Road.

Criminal damaging: A vehicle's paint was scratched at McDonald's, 1709 S. Raccoon Road.

Burglary: DVDs were taken when entry was gained through a bedroom window in the 3000 block of Timber Lane.

Theft: A gasoline drive-off was reported at McQuaid's, 5160 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: A gasoline drive-off was reported at Sheetz gas station.

Criminal trespass: A man was issued a summons for criminal trespass at Austintown Plaza, 6000 Mahoning Ave.

Breaking and entering: Two computer towers were taken, but no forced entry was found in the 5000 block of Ashley Circle.

June 30

Theft: 50.6 gallons of diesel fuel were stolen from Pilot Oil, 1150 N. Canfield-Niles Road.

Criminal damage: Burn marks on a vehicle caused by firecrackers were reported in the 3000 block of Huntmere Avenue.

Theft from auto: Tools were taken from a vehicle at Main Steel, 3805 Hendricks Road.

Criminal damaging: A vehicle window was broken out of a vehicle at Youngstown Floral Supply, 1050 N. Meridian Road.

Theft from auto: Unknown items were taken from a vehicle at Hampton Inn, 880 N. Niles-Canfield Road.

Attempted auto theft: An attempt to take a U-Haul truck was made and audio equipment was taken at Best Western Motel, 870 N. Canfield-Niles Road.

Burglary: A Hammond organ was taken from a vacant residence in the 6000 block of Kirk Road.

Theft: A gasoline drive-off was reported at the BP gas station, 3107 S. Canfield-Niles Road.

Theft: Two women's pink Magna mountain bikes were stolen from the 4000 block of Washington Square apartments.

Theft: A summons was issued for a woman for theft at Wal-Mart, 6001 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: A digital camera was stolen from Product Action, 400 Victoria Road.

July 1

Unauthorized use: A 1984 Mercury was recovered by Pennsylvania State police after it was involved in a robbery. The vehicle had been taken from the 900 block of Compass West apartments.

Burglary: Entry was gained through an attached garage, and several items were stolen in the 4000 block of Barrington Drive.

Theft: Recently planted plants were stolen from the Austintown Plaza, 6000 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: Fuel was stolen from Pilot Oil, 1150 N. Canfield-Niles Road.

Disturbance: A man was arrested on a disorderly conduct charge after two males said they were assaulted by a third male at Springwood Apartments , 131 N. Kimberly Ave.

Auto theft: A 2003 Pontiac Bonneville was stolen from the 4000 block of Barrington Drive.

July 2

Auto theft: A 1994 Pontiac was stolen from Bill's Place, 4771 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: A musical instrument was taken from Austintown Fitch High School, 4560 Falcon Drive.

Theft from auto: Miscellaneous tools were taken from Econo-Lodge, 5431 Seventy-Six Drive.

Counterfeit: A counterfeit $50 bill was passed at McDonald's, 850 N. Canfield-Niles Road.

Drug offense: Two Austintown men were arrested on drug charges, one for drug abuse cocaine, trafficking in cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting arrest, and causing physical harm to an officer. The second man was charged with drug abuse of cocaine, drug paraphernalia and permitting drug abuse. The two men were placed in county jail after being arrested at Pete and Charlie's Pub, 41765 Mahoning Ave.

Property damage: A vehicle window was damaged by a baseball in the 600 block of North Raccoon Road.

Criminal damage: A vehicle was spray painted in a carport in the 4000 block of Nantucket Drive.

Theft from auto: A Kenwood compact disc player and an Alpine amplifier were stolen from the 4000 block of Washington Square apartments.

Drug offense: An Austintown woman was arrested after presenting a fake prescription for Percocet at Walgreens, 5501 Mahoning Ave. She was charged with drug abuse of Oxycodone, permitting drug abuse, possession of drug paraphernalia and drug abuse of marijuana.

Disorderly conduct: A man was arrested on a disorderly conduct charge at Billy's, 40 S. Meridian Road.

July 3

Theft: Fuel was taken at Pilot Oil, 1150 N. Canfield-Niles Road.

Drug Offense: An Austintown man was issued a summons for possession of drug paraphernalia at Mahoning Avenue and state Route 46.

Theft: A woman was issued a summons for theft at Giant Eagle, 5220 Mahoning Ave.

Burglary: A Ruger P93D handgun was stolen from a residence in the 5000 block of Stanford Avenue.

Drug offense: A Youngstown man was arrested at Mahoning Avenue and South Four Mile Run Road on charges of drug abuse, crack cocaine, two counts of possession of dangerous drugs, permitting drug abuse, possession of drug paraphernalia and falsification during an arrest.

Theft: Gasoline was stolen from Sheetz gas station.

Disorderly conduct: A man was issued a summons for disorderly conduct in the 4000 block of E. Radio Road.
