Our Lady of Mount Carmel to celebrate with 5-day festival

The festival features music by area bands each night.
GIRARD -- The annual Mount Carmel Festival, which marks the feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, will be from 6 p.m. to midnight Tuesday through Saturday at the Italian Fraternal Home grounds, 33 W. Wilson Ave.
The festival, sponsored by the Girard Mount Carmel Committee, is open to the public and features food, concessions and children's games. Area bands also provide music each night from 7:30 to 11:30 p.m.
The list of musical groups are:
UTuesday: Mike Roncone Band.
UWednesday: Capri.
UThursday: Frank Gallo.
UFriday: First Degree.
USaturday: from 5 to 7 p.m., The Girard Community Band; 7:30 to 11 p.m., St. Margaret's Blue Coast Band. The annual parade from the IFH Hall to St. Rose Church to honor Our Lady of Mount Carmel will begin at 10 a.m. next Saturday.
The parade will go to St. Rose Church for an 11 a.m. Mass, and then proceed to the War Memorial at the Girard City Building at noon and then return to the IFH.
The parade contingent will then go to the Girard Cemetery at 2 p.m. and the Kerr Cemetery at 3 p.m. Festivities conclude Saturday with fireworks by Zambelli Fireworks, under the Girard-McDonald viaduct starting at 11 p.m.
The viaduct will be closed for the fireworks.
