The event also includes a toy car and truck show.
BOARDMAN -- The Mahoning Valley Olde Car Club Inc. will host the 27th annual Cars in the Park show and flea market from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 7 at Boardman Park.
Admission and parking is free for spectators.
Awards will be presented at 4 p.m., including a participant's choice, a president's choice and two best of show trophies.
Special interest cars and trucks after 1981 and replicas will be entered in the same class.
Dash plaques will be given to the first 250 entries at the show.
Rich Posivak, Cars in the Park coordinator, expects a minimum of 300 cars entered in the show. He also expects 25 auto-related vendors and additional vendors contracted by Boardman Park.
Pre-registration for cars ends July 25. The registration fee is $6 before the show and $10 at the gate. Car show registration is from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The show will also feature the ninth annual toy car and truck show. There is no fee to enter the show and it is open to children ages 5-15. Nine awards will be presented, including a $50 U.S. Savings Bond sponsored by Home Savings.
A portion of the money raised and donations will benefit Mallary Maus, who just received a pancreas transplant. In the last four years, she has been hospitalized more than 50 times.
