WARREN -- Trumbull County 4-H is partnering with Lazy B Trailer Sales Inc. of Bristolville to offer a scholarship for the Trumbull County 4-H camp July 31-Aug. 6 at Camp Whitewood in Windsor.
The scholarship is made possible by Dave and Sharon Braunberns and Lazy B. The scholarship will be for $180 and eligible recipients will be those who are involved in either 4-H or Future Farmers of America, have a farm animal and can show financial need.
Applications for the camp scholarship can be obtained by contacting Michelle Adkins at the Trumbull County OSU Extension Office at (330) 638-6783. Completed scholarship applications are due to the office by July 15.
Trumbull County 4-H camp is open to children ages 9-14. Campers do not need belong to 4-H.
The 4-H Camp provides an outdoor classroom where youths have a chance to learn skills in outdoor living, recreation, leadership development and decision-making. Older teens serve as cabin counselors and camp planners to help the camp director plan and conduct the camp program.
Adult staff includes a camp director, three adult chaperones, a camp nurse and permanent camp staff.
Cost for camp this year is $195, which includes three meals a day and a snack, lodging in cabins with bunk beds, restrooms with flush toilets and showers nearby, and activities and crafts.
